2020 has been off to a tough start with the Coronavirus pandemic taking over the world. But, hopefully things will go back to normal soon and people can go back to travelling to beautiful destinations! We are also wanderlusting like you right now, unable to explore the world. And thats why we put together this list of the best places you can visit after Covid-19 subsides!
In this blog post, you’ll find information about the five best places to visit in 2020. Click on the links below to know more about each of those destinations.
Incredible India
With endless varieties to see and experience, India is a whole continent in itself! And thats why it remains as one of the best places to visit in 2020.
There are snow-capped mountains to the north, a vast desert to the west, unexplored forests and cultures to the east and a spiritual south to offer everything you could be on the search for while traveling. And not to forget that culinary journery you’ll undertake in every city and state you visit!
On the other hand, if you are looking for something even more off-beat, head to Andaman & Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep islands! You can experience India like nothing you’ve known it to be. Those turquoise blue beaches can even give Thailand and Mauritius a run for their money!

Reunion Island, Africa
The French department of Reunion or Ile de La Reunion is the perfect off-beat destination in Eastern Africa. The island is home to an active volcano, delicate cloud forests, towering mountain peaks and the warm Creole culture. The island also has gorgeous white sand beaches, cool waterfalls and even adventure sports like canyoning and sky-diving!
If you’re looking to celebrate your honeymoon, skip all other destinations and just head to Reunion Island. The sheer beauty will make one amazing memory that you’ll never forget!
Although Reunion Island is a little expensive to visit, expect to spend about USD 600 (INR 46,000) for a week. It is best explored by a self-drive roadtrip!

Myanmar, South East Asia
As one of South East Asia’s smallest emerging economies, Myanmar is absolutely wealthy in its history and natural heritage. It also happens to be one of the fastest growing nations in Asia too! Myanmar can stun you with its beautiful temples in Bagan, the pristine turquoise beaches in Ngapali and the Anglo-Indian colonial architechure in Yangon. Mandalay is remnant of the Burmese royalty and the palaces stand as a testament. On the other hand, if you are lucky, you might even get to see the mysterious ring-neck women at Inle Lake!
Myanmar is very affordable to explore. Expect to spend as little as USD 200 (INR 15,000) for a week – thats inclusive of stay, food, local transport and sightseeing!

Russia, Europe-Asia
For most people, Russia is about Moscow or Saint Petersburg. Undeniably, both of these great cities are wonderful to explore especially if you like history, architecture and cityscapes. But did you know that there’s so much more to see in the largest country in the world?
It is one of the cheapest destinations in the world to see the Northern Lights: visit Murmansk, the world’s northernmost city. Here, you’ll get to see the Aurora Borealis for a third of what you’d spend in the Nordics. Next, visit Kazan for a cultural immersion! Top it off with the five-day Transsiberian railway up to the world’s largest lake called Baikal.
Expect to spend as little as USD 400 (INR 30,000) for stay, visa, food, local transport and even sightseeing for a week in Russia!

Sri Lanka, South Asia
As South Asia’s most underrated country, Sri Lanka can instantly stun with you! It has impressive natural scenery and its magnetic culture will keep you wanting to see more! Those towering Buddha statues in the midst of thick greenery are beautiful too. On the other hand, if you want to surf or swim then the bluest of beaches are located in the South and East of the island. The tropical location of the island also makes it a year-round destination to visit.
We’ve enjoyed visiting Sri Lanka twice already and couldn’t agree more on how affordable it can be to travel all over the island. In fact, one of the top ten train journeys in the world is in Sri Lanka and it costs less than USD 2 to get a ticket on it!
Expect to spend as little as USD 150 (INR 11,500) for a few days if you choose to backpack in Sri Lanka on a shoe-string budget.

Nice blog post
Amazing! I know nothing about traveling all over the country, what a wonderful looking place to explore.
The list of places to visit is very good. But I can’t dare to move out because of the pandemic. I would rather prefer to wait and watch how the situation reacts.
