Egypt Tourist Visa For Indians
Getting a Egypt tourist visa can be a little cumbersome because there is still no option for E-visa or Visa-on-Arrival for citizens of most countries at the moment. But is there a way to get this done quickly and easily? Is there too much of documentation to be provided to the Consulate?
In this blog post, you’ll find everything that you need to know to get your Egypt tourist visa including details on documents required for the Egypt tourist visa and how to go about submitting an application when you live far away from a Consulate.
Where to apply for the Egypt Tourist Visa (in India)
The Egyptian Consulates and Embassy are located in Delhi and Mumbai only. These establishments accept tourist visa applications directly from applicants and also represented by authorised agents such as Thomas Cook, etc. We recommend submitting the application directly if you live in Mumbai or Delhi and have the time to physically go to the Consulate. Otherwise, just go ahead with an agent’s assistance.
Application form
Fill an application form that is available at the Embassy/Consulate or even the Agent who is helping you with the process. These are the documents which need to be submitted along with the application.
1. Photograph: Close-up portrait photos with white background, no smiles and hair tied up (35 x 45 mm)
2. Flights: Confirmed return trip flight tickets to Egypt and back home
3. Accommodation: Confirmed hotel bookings (online vouchers from Booking.com will work too) for all nights. If you are taking overnight trains, then the train reservations will be valid too
4. Proof of sufficient funds: Bank statements (stamped and signed by Bank in original) for the last 6 month period with adequate funds (about INR 50,000)
5. Itinerary with Cover Letter: Day wise itinerary for the planned period of stay in the country – this would contain details of the cities you would be staying at, hotel/host details, overnight train/flight details, etc. The visa agent can help you in this regard. If you want a template, email us requesting for one.
6. Passport with 6 months validity: Check the validity of the passport before submitting it
7. No Objection Certificate (NOC): A leave letter signed and stamped by your current employer will suffice. If you are self employed, a registration deed/MOA will work too.
Tourist visa agent in India
We took help from Thomas Cook in Bangalore, and the fees for the Egypt Tourist Visa was about INR 5,500 for the consular fees and service charges. The standard tourist visa application takes a minimum of five business days to be processed.
The service includes:
1. Filling of the application form
2. Submission of the application to the consulate
3. Receiving and sending of the passports via courier (extra for faster delivery)
An additional fee is charged for the expedited processing of the application at the Consulate.
